TSS Wireless - a turnkey solution provider of Airport Ground Transportation Systems haschosen Spb Software House to implement the Pocket PC side of TSS Airport Taxi Dispatch System™ for a large International Airport in New Jersey, USA. One of the unique requirements of the airport was ability for taxicab coordinators on the curb to provide rating services to passengers. This functionality required powerful application capabilities on wireless handheld devices.
Spb Software House has provided a robust Thin Client software that enabled TSS Wireless to rapidly and efficiently deploy its applications onto the new wireless Pocket PC handheld device.

In order to improve customer service, reduce wait times and streamline taxi dispatch in the airport, TSS Wireless had to supply taxicab coordinators with a reliable ruggedized device that would run a very sophisticated passenger rating application. 7X24 mode of operation required a very robust solution that would be easy to deploy and support on the Pocket PC handheld device in the airport environment.

802.11b wireless network infrastructure is setup to support wireless network access for handheld devices. Using our software, Pocket PC handheld devices are switched into the kiosk mode so that one and only one program is run on the devices. This program is a VNC client for Pocket PC, which was enhanced and modified by Spb Software House to enable robust application deployment. VNC clients provide remote access the rating application that runs on the server. Operators can calculate rates, print tickets, and coordinate demand for taxicabs at the curb.
