1. Who needs Benchmark?
Unlike most of Spb products this one is not dedicated to a wide circle of users. However, this program is a must-have for reviewers, people whose target is to describe one Pocket PC or another, or compare several devices. Indeed, Spb Benchmark provides a full range of tests that analyze the functionality of a Pocket PC and, which is most important, compare it with that of other models. The close interaction between the Benchmark application installed on a Pocket PC and the website allows to create comparative charts for more intuitive analysis.
2. What happens to my Pocket PC during the test?
Nothing harmful. While testing, Spb Benchmark may perform different actions, such as opening and closing graphic and text files, writing, reading, copying files as in your Pocket PC storage, as on a storage card, it may play audios and movies, or just turn the display off. Some actions may be repeated hundreds of times - it is all a part of the testing process. Please do not interrupt this process and let it finish.
3. How much time does it take? Does it require any free storage?
It depends on what series of tests you launched. Some tests take less than a minute, some several hours. Each of the battery tests takes as much time as full battery discharge requires. You are always warned about the estimated testing process duration before a test is launched.
The same refers to available storage space. Some tests require up to several MB of free space of Pocket PC storage and storage card.
4. Should I pay for using this product?
Spb Benchmark is a free tool for two categories of users:
- A person who does not derive any benefit from using Spb Benchmark, e.g. the one who desires only to test his/her Pocket PC functionality and compare the obtained results with other models, does not pay for this tool.
- A reviewer/webmaster/journalist who uses Spb Benckmark to review Pocket PC devices, describe their functionality and compare different models of Pocket PC devices, publishing results in magazines, on websites, etc.
Other people who derive benefit from using Spb Benchmark (e.g. people making their decision what Pocket PC to obtain to equip their enterprises, or hardware developers who use this tool to find out the weaknesses of a their devices, etc) pay for Spb Benchmark the overall cost of USD 495.
